Homemade Lentil Stew

stew

As you may (or may not) know, I am currently homeschooling my oldest son. He is in first grade and we use an amazing curriculum called My Father’s World, we are about half way through the curriculum and totally loving it! The reason I love the curriculum so much is because it teaches the historic events of the bible as the basis and then incorporates Language Arts, Math, Science, and Geography… also, its SO easy to follow the teachers guide! Anyway, I think the reason Corban enjoys it so much is because it has tons of hands on activities that help to learn the material. Read the rest of this entry »

Super Delicious Scones

I am a huge sucker for scones. Whenever I go to a coffee shop its usually the pastry I choose to go with my coffee whether its morning, afternoon, or dinner time. I’m not sure what it is exactly but to me they are like heaven on earth! Their crumbly, yet soft and slightly moistness is soooo amazingly delicious… thinking about them has my mouth watering! So.. It’s no excuse but hopefully  I can post more soon!

Anyway, on to the reason for this post… Read the rest of this entry »

Homemade Mayo!

mayo

I was making lunch for me and the boys today… we decided we wanted to have tuna salad sandwiches. As I was getting out all of the ingredients needed, I realized we were OUT OF MAYO! We really wanted tuna sandwiches.. but without mayo, it wasn’t going to happen :(. So.. I started to brain storm a solution. Going to the store was out of the question (me plus 3 kids running to the store for one ingredient seemed to be way too much work in this disgusting heat).. so I kept brainstorming a solution. Then I realized, we may not HAVE mayo but, we have all the ingredients to MAKE mayo! So, I made homemade mayo! It is super simple and turned out tasting way better than store bought!! If you are interested in making your own, the recipe is below: Read the rest of this entry »
