Super Easy and Delicious Granola Bites

So, being a mom (and a preggo one at that)… I am always looking for delicious, nutritious and easy to make snack ideas. A few months back I came across this recipe for granola bites. They are sooooo good and (depending on what you actually put in them) are good for you! So, if you’re looking for a delicious, nutritious snack.. give ’em a try!

1 cup old-fashioned oats
1/2 cup wheat germ (omit if gluten free.. perhaps add a bit of coconut flour since its so high in fiber?)
1/2 cup wheat or oat bran
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup flax seeds
1-2 tsp Spirulina (optional)
1/3 cup honey (or agave if you prefer)
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup semi-sweet (or dark) chocolate chips (or carob chips.. my boys love carob!)

Mix together all ingredients until well combined.  Chill in refrigerator for about 30 minutes.  Roll mix into bite-sized balls. Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.

All of the measurements and dry ingredients given are interchangeable. Play with the recipe and add what ever you like in what ever portions you feel best… just make sure the consistency is slightly sticky so it’ll stay together but not too sticky that it sticks to your hands.
